This remote control is designed to be stored in the portable computer's ExpressCard slot and provides simple functionality for enjoying multimedia content. The Dell Travel Remote works with Dell MediaDirect and is also compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista Media Center. The Dell Travel Remote does not require any software to function.
The Dell Travel Remote is only compatible with Dell portable computers that have a Dell Consumer Infrared (CIR) port. The CIR is standard on select Dell portable computers manufactured after January 31, 2007. The CIR on Dell Portable computers will only function with the Dell Travel Remote, and is not designed to work with any other remote control device.
