The Iomega Zip ATAPI drive is a standard
3.5-inch form factor drive. The drive interface complies with ANSI X3T13/1153D,
Revision 17 (ATA/ATAPI-4), October 1997. The drive also includes an A: drive
option that allows the drive to start by emulating floppy disk A:. The Atapi Zip
drive is designed for mounting in an external access drive bay of a host
computer. The drive uses Zip 250 removable cartridges with a formatted capacity
of 250 MB. The drive also reads, writes, and performs a short format (rewrites
the File Allocation Table) on 100MB Zip disks. The drive performs optimally when
using 250 MB Zip disks. This drive includes a revision of the software that no
longer has applications. The right-click features and Guest.exe remain part of
the software.
