RAID 1+0 - Mirrored sets in a Striped set (Requires Minimum of 4 Hard Drives; even number of disks)
Mirrored sets in a striped set. RAID 1+0 combines RAID 1 and RAID 0. By configuring both technologies in a single array, both data duplication and improved access speed can be provided. RAID 1+0 provides fault tolerance and improved performance but increases complexity. The array continues to operate with one or more drives failed in the same mirror set, but if drives fail on both sides of the mirror the data on the RAID system is lost.
